As the core equipment in the production of plastic products, injection mold is an indispensable part of modern industrial manufacturing. It not only embodies a high degree of technical precision, but also bears the heavy responsibility of transforming molten plastic into products of various shapes. This article will analyze this precision tool in detail from four aspects: the structure, working principle, manufacturing process and technical advantages of injection mold.

1. Structure of injection mold

Injection molds are usually composed of several main components, including mold base, mold core, mold cavity, cooling system and ejection system. The mold base, as the basic supporting part of the mold, is usually made of solid steel plate to ensure the stability and durability of the mold. The mold core and mold cavity are responsible for forming the internal and external shapes of the product, respectively, and their design accuracy directly affects the size and appearance quality of the final product. The cooling system quickly reduces the temperature of the mold and plastic by circulating cooling media such as water and oil to ensure that the product can solidify quickly. The ejection system is responsible for the smooth removal of the product from the mold after solidification.

2. Working Principle of Injection Mold

The working principle of injection mold is relatively simple and efficient. In the injection molding process, the plastic particles or powder are first heated to a molten state, and then the molten plastic is injected into the mold cavity through an injection device. The injection molding machine applies high pressure to fill the entire mold cavity with plastic and maintains a certain pressure and temperature to ensure that the plastic is evenly distributed and adheres firmly to the mold wall. The cooling system then begins to operate, and the plastic solidifies rapidly by lowering the temperature of the mold and the plastic. When the plastic is completely solidified, the injection molding machine opens the mold and the ejection system removes the finished product from the mold to complete the entire injection molding process.

3. Injection Mold Manufacturing Process

The manufacturing of injection molds is a complex and delicate process that usually involves three main stages: mold design, mold manufacturing and mold debugging. In the mold design stage, the designer draws detailed three-dimensional drawings based on the shape, size and structural requirements of the product, and considers factors such as the flow, cooling and shrinkage of the plastic. In the mold manufacturing stage, high-precision processes such as CNC machining, EDM and wire EDM are required to process the various components of the mold. Finally, in the mold debugging stage, the mold is tested and adjusted many times to ensure that it can meet production requirements and produce products that meet quality standards.

4. Technical Advantages of Injection Molding

Injection molding has many technical advantages that make it the preferred tool for manufacturing plastic products. First, injection molds can produce high-precision, high-quality products, and their dimensional accuracy and surface quality are usually better than other molding methods. Second, injection molds have high production efficiency, can achieve mass production and reduce production costs. In addition, injection molds are also flexible and can quickly design and manufacture appropriate molds according to different product requirements. Finally, injection molds have a long service life and can withstand multiple injection cycles without being easily damaged, thus reducing maintenance costs during the production process.

In summary, as precision tools for the production of plastic products, injection molds have complex and fine structures, efficient and reliable working principles, rigorous and standardized manufacturing processes, and significant and outstanding technical advantages. The wide application and continuous development of injection molds have not only promoted the rapid development of the plastic products industry, but also strongly supported modern industrial manufacturing.
