About make a plastic mold
What is an injection mold?
Plastic injection molds are designed as hollow metal blocks with cavities for molding molten plastic through the injection molding process. There are many holes inside the mold, and the temperature can be controlled by oil, water or heaters.
Gates in the mold allow molten plastic to flow in and then fill the cavity through runners and gates. After cooling, the mold is opened, and the ejector pin of the injection molding machine is pushed through the top plate to further eject the molded part.
The tooling used for plastic injection molding is called plastic mold or plastic injection mold. Plastic molds are composed of steel plates and other mold parts, coupled to form a monolithic mold, which is then reliably assembled and installed in an injection molding machine, and thermoplastic resin is then applied to the desired shape to achieve the intended purpose.
Most plastic products are formed by plastic molds. According to the characteristics of molding plastics, plastic molds are divided into thermosetting and thermoplastic molds.
